DIY Built in Shelf and Staircase Makeover

We moved a little over a year ago to our new home. Like with majority of houses, a little or big update is necessary. This was the livingroom space, when we moved in. There were a few ideas and options that we had in mind, however, due to the timing and prices of material we chose to save money and work with what we had.

With the wall structure, the space was a bit inclosed and unwelcoming. So down came half off the wall, new stair railings and a fresh coat of paint transformed the space.

We purchased cabinets from Home Depot for the bottom half, and created built in shelves for the top.

Side note: that painting hanging above the fireplace is not done, I did the base coat, hung it up to see if it fit and forgot about it.
